Today, we're going to be talking about building an Amazon affiliate website, and so I'm going to walk you through the entire process. I'm going to show you best practices and I'm also going to take you behind the scenes to one of my websites and to show you how I've built it and so you can have the same process and you can implement the same way and also build it very, very successfully. So the first thing you have to understand is what exactly is an Amazon affiliate website? Well before you can understand that you have to know what what is an affiliate website OK and so in affiliate website or affiliate marketing is a way where your marketing a third parties, products and services and getting a percentage of the Prophet that they're making right? So if I go out and let's say I'm basically promoting this pen, this is not my pen. This is a third party pen. Somebody produce it, but I basically came on as a partner and I decided to help them promote it that so in exchange for my promotion. Efforts they agreed to actually give me a percentage of the sales of despair, and the percentage will depend on the actual offer on the program on different factors. If you are promoting, you know some independent products, not Amazon, then typically the rates are going to be 5075, sometimes even up to 90%. That means if you sell this pen, let's say this pen is $20.00 an you are basically in the percentage, let's say 50%. You're going to get $10 if it's 90%. You're going to get $18.00, but with Amazon it works a little bit different. The rates are lower, but you're promoting Amazon, which everybody knows about everybody trusts, and everybody has a credit card account, and so it's very, very easy to actually get sales by promoting Amazon products. And so here's a diagram. We have the visitor. They're basically coming there using some kind of a traffic source. We're not going to really talk about that too much, but what this really means is that it could be maybe their browsing Facebook or their browsing Google. They're searching for something. And then they stumble on the website. OK, and this is a website that has some kind of content on it. Maybe they're talking about specific products or services. Maybe they're reviewing something over there, but whatever the case is, they click on the link and then they're, basically it's called an affiliate link. And then there re directed to Amazon. So this would be Amazon right here. So if we go and put this, this would be Amazon in the middle. Amazon Amazon.com here, and they basically can click on an affiliate link. They go to Amazon. And then they sign up and then they purchase hopefully and we get a Commission. OK so they have to, you know basically follow all these steps and if they basically purchase something and Amazon gives you like a long length of cookies that are need to purchase it right away, they can purchase it a little bit later down the road. And so once they purchase it you getting to get a Commission. So what kind of Commission and what kind of products and how to set up this website? I'm going to talk about all of this right here. And So what we're going to be discussing is the actual. Website that you need to build and the right process to do it. And so if we go into Amazon as you can see this is Amazon and this is their affiliate program. It's called Amazon Associates, which is the same thing and affiliate is really an associate or a partner is just another word of calling is just another word to basically define the same thing. And so if you Google for Amazon Associates operating agreement, you're going to see something called Associates program, standard fee schedule. And this is basically the percentage. That you're going to receive as a result of the visitor that you refer to if they bought something. OK, so for luxury beauty Amazon coins, you're getting 10% digital music, physical music, handmade digital videos. You're getting 5%, and on and on and on. And so I have a couple of size I'm going to show you those sites alittle bit later in the video and I'm going to explain to you how they set up, how they work and I'm going to see how you can do the same thing and so as you can see, you know if you're going to. If you want to promote something like electronics. PC PC components. You're getting about 2 1/2 percent 3% and you have to understand that this is on the whole shopping cart, right? So if they if you prefer them, let's say let's say we have a website and let's say we are selling this pen and they basically click on the link and they go to Amazon, they don't need to buy this pen taken by something else. And you're going to get a percentage. So this pen might be $20 and so let's say your rate is 2% just as an example, right? So that's only like $6. Or $0.60 excuse me. So 2% is actually $0.60, but let's say they instead of buying the spent they end up buying like $1000 video camera and you're going that you're going to be making $20 as a result, right? So there is or whatever the rate is for that video camera so they don't need to actually purchase this product. They can purchase something else and you'll be able to make money. Alright, so here is actually one of my sites. This is an Amazon site is you can see the traffic is very very steady and it's all free traffic. OK, I'm going to show you how to get free traffic. From Google so that you can promote your Amazon products and services, whatever you want to promote on them. So here is a really good example of an Amazon affiliate site. OK, this is called wire cutter and it's actually one of the top one of the main examples of the site now they basically review everything under the sun, right? They review electronics, home and garden kitchen and dining money, travel, gifts, appliances. More categories, right? So you can go into let's say. I want to buy cameras right? So I go into electronics categories and I click on camera and they basically have different different types of articles, right? The best instant camera, the best drones and so. Let's say I want to buy a drone, right? OK, actually I've been thinking about buying a drawing myself and this is really cool because look, they basically tell you what the best drone is. DJ Mavic, Air 2 and then if you want to read the whole review they actually tell you. OK this is a long review an in the beginning they basically telling you OK if you want to skip the review. Our pig are upgrade pig also great right? You can buy this drone budget pig. Etc etc. Now if you Scroll down they basically giving you three options for this link. You can buy it from Amazon. OK it for $960.00. You can buy it from Amazon. For 800 you can buy it from the giant which is the manufacturer and then from 800 you can buy for a moment, which is another distributor. So they're basically getting commissions from all of these links. OK, so whatever the rate is for Amazon. So let's say the rate is, I don't know 5% and it could be lower higher. I do not know for drones. So let's say it's actually 5%. That means they're going to make $48.00. If my math is correct, because if my math is correct, because 10% is 96 and 5% of half of that, which is $48.00. So every time somebody clicks on this and buys it, they make almost $50. OK, so if you're going to getting, let's say you have maybe 10 sales a day, you're going to be making $500 a day, right? So there's a lot of potential here, and so we have this right, and they, basically, you know, they have a lot of different categories. Now there's a lot of sites on the Internet. That are doing this kind of thing. All you have to do is basically go on Google and you just basically like you could just type something like sent top 10 best cameras for photographer YouTube. OK, just as an example and I'm going to have a digital trends. I'm gonna have digital camera world and I can bet 99% or 90% that you know all of these sites are basically their affiliate size and most of them, or at least the majority of them are going to be promoting Amazon product. So let's say we click on the first ones are actually let's click on this one. I've never been there before. We're doing this together so the top 10 best cameras for YouTube of 2020, and so if we Scroll down, What is this check price? And this is an Amazon link, right? Because if I click on this, I'm going to be directed to Amazon. This right here in the URL. This is there Amazon ID OK. And so if I buy this camera, it's a $600 camera an let's say the rate is 5%. OK, they're going to make $30 OK. Or let's say I decide to buy a $3000 worth of lenses, cameras, equipment, etc. They are going to make $150 if it's 5% right? So there is a lot of potential, especially on these high ticket items, right? and I say hi ticket for me, high ticket. Does anything above $300 or so, and so this I would consider high ticket item right? And this is fantastic cause I buy it. They get a Commission. So if you have this site right, all you know if you have a site like this you just comparing your listing and you know somebody clicks they buy you get a Commission. You don't have to deal with customer support. You don't have to deal with returns, refunds, customer emails. I actually ran aside some years ago were actually with selling this stuff on my own out of my own warehouse and it's a lot of pain because you have to deal with customers questions and are actually don't mind dealing with customers, but it gets it gets a little bit annoying because you have some customers that are emailing you all the time so it gets a little painful. So in my opinion, affiliate marketing is the way an Amazon doing it with Amazon is. Fantastic cause Amazon. Is a trusted brand. Everybody has an account, or at least I think I read something like almost like maybe almost everybody at least like 21 and over over 18 plus in the United States has an account with Amazon. I don't know the exact statistic, but it's pretty high up there, right? So if they click and check price they're going to be at Amazon there going to be automatically logged in. All they need to do is basically click on. They just need to buy now like I'm logged in right now on Amazon and all you need to do is basically by now and you will automatically purchase it and they're going to get a Commission and so that is the way to do it. Now the next thing you want to think about is what kind of nice you want to promote. And honestly, you can pretty much create a site about pretty much anything right? Because here I am an Amazon, right? I can click on. So here we have bargain tech accessories, air conditioning, air conditioners and fans. No, they have random deals here, but if we go into let's say we go into cameras, OK, so let's say I click on cameras and you're going to see a lot of categories, right? So we have digital point and shoot digital cameras, DSL Rs sports in action, instant film, SL camera cases. And then they have a lot of these out. And then they have these other Department. These other categories and so in my opinion you kind of have to decide what kind of stuff you want to promote honestly, because the fact of the matter is that. You can promote pretty much anything and you kind of have to decide is this going to be, you know, in my opinion you should. You should pick a category that related to your passion. Some kind of a nice something that you're passionate about. Do not go out and promote like baby products if you don't really care about that particular category. Me, I'm a big kind of camera guy. Love cameras. I love you know cameras for video ography especially. Not not really for photography, but more for for doing videos. And so I actually went ahead and created the site. About Vlogging, about cameras, and he saw it has a bunch of articles and it has buying guides, cameras, microphones, tripods, lifestyle about contact. Here's a little about box and it basically says this is the title. The complete guide to buying a vlogging camera as an Amazon. So the first thing I have to do is I have I need this disclaimer. OK, this is very important. Amazon requires you to have it an by law you're required by the FTC, the Federal Trade Commission, which I guess overseas. This kind of Commerce, this Internet Commerce, they required to have something called an affiliate disclosure statement, and this is exactly what this is right. You basically need to say this as an Amazon associate I earned from qualifying purchases and this basically tells them that. I have an incentive. OK, I'm not just listing it be cause you not just for the hell of it. I have an incentive but you know. Also I want to, you know I want to recommend the best product but still I have a financial incentive and state because if they buy it I get a Commission OK and so obviously this is an honest guide. I'm being honest with you an you can read this. This is a top recommended cameras for vloggers right? This is an article that I wrote myself and all of these links there are all affiliate links so if somebody goes on they buy this product. I earn a Commission right and so this is one of many articles here. There is buying guides, cameras, microphones and you know we're constantly adding new content here, right? And this is about vlogging. OK, this is kind of logging in this area and so when you're creating a side you have to decide. So, for instance, let's say you want to do a site like this one. It's really up to you, so you're kind of free to do it whatever you want. It's really up to you basically, in order. So the first thing that you need to do is you need to go on Bluehost. And you can basically click my link in the description. It's the first link that you're going to see a down below that says something about creating your own site. I use blue host. You can get started for something like $4 per month and you can have it's a one click WordPress install 24/7 support free domain name, free SSL certificate. It's a fantastic deal honestly right? So if you want to see in dollars I'm in Europe right now, but if you want to see in dollars it's 395 a month free so click my link in the description. It's gonna it's an affiliate link and you're going to get is at no cost to you. And also I'm going to help you out so if you click my link, subscribe if you have any questions about signing up, just let me know in the comments below and I will answer your questions. I'm going to help you out. I'm going to do the best they can, so once you do that you're going to be basically in this kind of screen. This is one of my sites that I've set up. It's a site about video and also here is another one of my size. Like if you click on this side, you're going to actually go on. You're going to go into this dashboard, OK? And so if you click on poles, you can actually create content. So I have this how to monetize your YouTube channel and then I have some dating tips right? This is going to go to another side. This side is about video and you want to keep it consistent. OK? You do not want to create random content. So if you decide you want to talk about cameras then that is what you want to do right? You wanna talk about cameras and so how do you create new content? But it's actually very easy. I'm going to show you some advance kind of techniques to do it so you can go out and you can Google just like I did in the beginning of this video. What is the best YouTube Cameron you're going to stumble apon this site and you're going to have a bunch of articles so you can basically read so that they actually reviewing a lot of things right and you see they have. So they have like they have like blog articles. But these are all diverse categories. Best thermometers, best utility, nice best electric smokers and so here they have some related comments right? Best cameras for YouTube. Quick navigation. So they have camera used by tab youtubers, best action camera camera used by top, floggers buyers guide on YouTube cameras so they have some ideas. Another thing that you can do is you can basically go back. You can edit this and you can type site map dot XML and so 99% of the sites are going to give you this what you want to do is you want to go into the post sign site map and you want to basically scroll around. You want to see what kind of content they have and so obviously This site is very. It's a gadgets deck so it's very general. It's not only about cameras and so it's probably not the best example for doing this, but still it suffices, and so you have Nikon D75 Hundred review, which is a camera Sony, A 6500 review. Nikon cool pix, so you can basically Scroll down and you can find the kind of content that they're doing. Another thing you want to do is you want to look at content that's been modified recently, right? So this is automatically. This is sorted in the order, right? So if you Scroll down, you have content which is new and you can basically take a look at it. They have hoverboards headphones, so they're doing a lot of things. But my recommendation is when you're starting out, you want to stick to one category. Kind of like what I did. This is about vlogging, right? It's an overall theme, and blogging what he needed microphone unit cameras in your tripod. Just focus on one topic, focus on one subject and you're not going to go wrong. And that's kind of what you want to do now you want to create 10 to 15 pieces of content and you want them to be at least 1000 two 1500 words. OK, it's very very important. Do not create one or two pieces of content and think, OK? Google is going to rank you, and you're going to make a lot of money. That's not how it works. You need to create 10 to 15 pieces of content and you also need to basically have make sure it's at least 1000 to 1500 words, which is very, very important. And so once you do that, you basically click add new content and then I can basically create new content. So let's say I'm doing a video inside about video on cameras. So let's say I want to. Do, you know there's a Sony, A 6400 review? Is this is this the camera? To buy so I'm basically creating a brand new blog article and it basically created kind of. This is called the permalink. This is how it's going to appear to the outsiders when they actually click on the link to the visitors and I can basically write the content and so you need to make sure you have at least 1000 words. So if I start typing so this is going to be, this is going to be a review were a WordPress is going to basically be showing me the word count in real time of how many words I have. So this is going to be review of the Sony. A 6500 mirrorless mirrorless camera OK, and now I have how many words. I have 13 words, so you want at least 1000 to 1500 as a starting. You basically do this once already click publish, add some images and also when you are creating the content you want to obviously linked to the affiliate links right? You can basically say something by it here somewhere right? And this is going to be link you selected. Press CMD or CTRL K annual be able to basically link to an affiliate link. And you do that once you sign up for Amazon, they're going to give you a way to basically link to any product out there. So this is going to be linked to Amazon with your specific affiliate ID just like everybody else is doing right. So if I go back to the side, all of their links, so if I go back all of their links this check price, this is actually an affiliate ID, right? Because as you can see, it's actually gadgets that 20 that's their affiliate ID. If you didn't see this ending, it would just be a regular Lincoln that is kind of how you do it. You want to focus right? Check price on Amazon. They have pros and cons. This is and this is kind of the four Milla, what they're doing right this, you know how we pick and test it. Who needs a YouTube camera? You want to kind of follow? Follow this view because this article is actually ranking on the first page of Google for this specific content, and so this is a really, really good method. Since their ranking on the first page. That means they're doing something that Google likes and you would be. It would be smart to kind of follow what they're doing. Do not copy and paste. Google is not going to rank, is just not going to work. Just kind of look at their format. You can actually. You can actually look at their subheadings and follow that. But do not copy and paste because Google they have a really nice algorithm for detecting plagiarism and so do not copy and paste. Paraphrase it, put it into your own words or outsource it, or do it somehow where you're not actually doing it this way where you are actually doing it. Putting it into your own words and that is kind of how you do it. Alright guys, so you can pretty much pick any issue. Want just put in content overtime. Google is going to rank. You're going to get visitors and once they click on a link you're going to. You're going to earn a Commission. It's Amazon. They're not going anywhere there legit. It's not some fly by night operation in somebody's basement. It's a big company and so it's a very, very good way to get started with affiliate marketing.
